Backflow Prevention & Cross-Connection Compliance
Backflow is the plumbing item most commercial buildings get caught on, because it is a recurring legal obligation rather than a one time installation.
Most Ontario municipalities run a cross-connection control program requiring commercial, industrial and institutional properties to have backflow prevention devices tested annually by a certified tester, with the report filed with the municipality. A missed test can mean a notice, a re-inspection, and in some cases a water service disconnection. The device itself also fails quietly. It keeps passing water while no longer protecting anything, which is why the annual test exists.

How often does a backflow preventer need to be tested?
Annually in most Ontario municipalities, by a certified tester, with the report filed under the local cross-connection control program. Requirements vary by municipality and by hazard level, so if you are unsure what applies to your building we will confirm it and put you on a schedule.
Do you work on industrial and process piping?
Yes. Process water, chemical feed, compressed air, glycol and chilled water piping, equipment connections and piping modifications around production changes. Plant work is normally scheduled around your run hours or during a planned shutdown.
Can you handle plumbing for a new commercial build?

My drain keeps backing up. Why does cleaning it not last?
Because snaking a line clears a channel through the blockage without removing what is coating the pipe wall. If a line blocks repeatedly, the answer is a camera inspection to find the cause, then jetting or a repair. Repeat blockages in the same spot usually mean grease buildup, roots, scale, a bad slope or a failed section of pipe.
Do you service equipment installed by another contractor?
Yes. We service and maintain existing commercial plumbing systems regardless of who installed them, and will document and tag what is on the building so there is a record going forward.
